Cultural diversity

Children with a wide variety of abilities, prerequisites and needs live together in our daycare center. The life situations of the families also differ, as they come from different social realities.
Our mission is to unite this diversity and variety under one roof and to ensure the best possible education, upbringing and care for each child.

Our facility accepts every child for who they are. More than 20 nations are part of our daycare center "Die Wichtel", which makes cultural diversity an important part of our community. In the entrance area, we welcome all nationalities by displaying the flags of the respective countries and the corresponding welcoming phrases.

We promote a culture of respectful and equal interaction, focusing on the participation of all children and families.
Through a community that consciously recognizes and acknowledges differences, we aim to highlight the individual qualities of each child. We actively promote equality and respect the differences between children, families and educational professionals. This contributes to a harmonious and respectful coexistence in our daycare center.

The educational staff act as role models for the children by taking action against discrimination and exclusion. Every child is seen as a valued member of the community and supported in their diversity. We encourage the children to experience different roles and forms of social interaction.

In our daycare center, the children are free to choose their own play materials. Boys can play with dolls, girls with building blocks, cars or craft materials. The children are also free to choose their clothes and play preferences. If a boy wants to wear pigtails or be a princess, that's just as okay as a girl who wants to be a builder. We encourage tolerance and the freedom to try out different roles.

When playing and climbing, attention is paid to practical clothing, and girls and boys are equally encouraged to move freely.

Our educational staff talk to the children about the diversity that surrounds them, including different family constellations, skin colors, eating habits and religions. In doing so, we encourage the children to recognize differences and discover similarities. The appreciation of origin, family culture and language as well as belonging to religious communities are central to us. In this way, we support every child in feeling strengthened and recognized in their identity.
