Mission statement

Guiding principle

Our actions are needs-oriented and characterized by tolerance, openness and respect.

You cannot teach a person anything. You can only help them to find it within themselves.
by Galileo Galilei

For us, this guiding principle applies to the day-to-day life of the Wichtel daycare center:

Our children are at the center of everything we do

  • We are mindful. In an atmosphere of mindfulness and security, we make it possible for our children to experience themselves as self-effective.
  • We respect our children in their individual personality.
  • We give our children space to develop their abilities.
  • We strengthen our children in their self-esteem.
  • We provide a stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors and create spaces for our children to retreat to.
  • We ensure that the children are supported at all stages of development.
  • We empower our children to shape their own lives.
  • We give our children the tools they need to take on challenges and develop and implement their own ideas.
  • We protect our children from abuse of any kind. We preserve a child's integrity by respecting their boundaries and recognizing their basic needs.
  • We empower our children to find healthy solutions to crises and encourage them to overcome their fears.
  • We radiate confidence in the event of a crisis.
  • We take the concerns of the children, the daycare team and the parents seriously and look for joint solutions.

Community idea

We are a community of children, parents, daycare team and daycare provider who are committed to each other and to our community.

Dealing with each other:

  • We stand for trusting cooperation.
  • We give each other constructive feedback.
  • We communicate openly and respectfully. We are honest with each other and value transparency.
  • We are aware of the needs of our counterparts. We consider together how these needs can be met and discuss them.
  • We accept our own boundaries.
  • We make agreements that provide security and orientation and in which everyone is involved.

Inclusion:

  • We respect the dignity of all people and embrace diversity.
  • We do not exclude anyone.
  • We stand for participation.
